STORYTELLING: CREATE A ONE-PERSON SHOW

There is no one else in the world who has ever been, or will ever be, exactly like you. It’s time to write your story. Stories matter.
The aim of this six-session course (supplemented by individual one-on-one sessions) is to provide you with the confidence, empowerment and courage to take what is in your heart and put it down in writing. There is no prerequisite to this course - all you need is you!
Clare takes participants on a journey from an initial idea & discovery, to performance in just six sessions. In this course you will explore overcoming obstacles, building a story, goal setting and next steps for writer-performers.
What Clare does
“I will guide you to develop your writing confidence and give you the tools to embrace and manage your writing saboteur. No matter what your story is – a letter to your parents, a blog about cooking, a play, a novel, a song, a screenplay, a poem – I will empower you to find your own unique voice. I will give you the tools to start and finish your story, in the manner that best serves you.”
What Clare doesn’t do
“I don’t teach you English literature, literary terms and techniques, grammar, syntax, hyperboles etc. There are plenty of creative writing courses that will teach you the technical aspects of writing. I help you become a writer-performer.”
Between each class, Clare hosts a mid week one-on-one check in to keep you motivated and on track. The final class is the Storytellers Showcase where you share your work with an invited audience.

There is no right or wrong way to learn, your way is exactly the way it should be right now.
There is no such thing as perfection; so let go, have fun and be the storyteller you were born to be.

PRE-CLASS HOMEWORK
Nothing! Just bring your favourite pen, a notebook, your sense of humour and gel pens (ask Clare why these are amazing) to the first class. Optional items to bring to the first class are - laptop, iPad, dictaphone and/or smart phone to record into.
