About Greenfleet

Greenfleet is a leading not-for-profit organisation and Australia’s first carbon offset provider; committed to protecting our climate by restoring our forests. They plant native biodiverse forests in Australia and New Zealand to restore critical ecosystems and capture carbon emissions on behalf of their supporters. Their forests are legally protected, absorb carbon from the atmosphere, improve soil and water quality, and provide vital habitat for native wildlife. Their partnerships with local communities and Traditional Owners support broad benefits for the country and communities in which we live and work.

Here at the Howard Fine Acting Studio we take our social and environmental responsibility seriously. We’re not perfect, but we are committed to constantly striving to do our bit for the planet.

As such, as of 2021 the Howard Fine Acting Studio Australia is 100% fully carbon offset. In fact we're better than fully carbon offset and wish to start chipping away at our historical emissions.

So, what exactly have we done? Well, in short, we've done the following:

• We've partnered with Greenfleet to offset our carbon emissions. We've calculated our yearly emissions and provided Greenfleet with funds to plant trees, create biodiverse forests, improve soil and water quality and restore habitat for native wildlife on our behalf.

For those that like the detail (who doesn't?) here's a closer look at what exactly we are offsetting:

• All journeys to and from the studio by staff and faculty are fully offset.

• In fact, because we love them, we've offset the travel emissions for the vast majority of our staff and faculty for the entire year - even if they are only working with us for a few weeks during the year.

• We offset the emissions caused by our power usage.

• In fact we offset the emisions caused by power usage for the whole building including the areas occupied by our downstairs neighbour.

• We offset for all deliveries we receive and books we post.

• In fact we multiplied that number by 10 and decided to cover the emissions for 1000 deliveries.

• And finally we offset the emissions of 500 individual visits to the studio, by you, our community.

• That's right, we offset the travel emissions, the emissions connected to food & beverage, and the emissions created to keep you lit and warm in our building for 500 individual visits (this sits on top of all other emission offsets).
